United Kingdom 5 September 2019 Sharp Returns to IFA 2019 with a Show-stopping Interactive Showcase

Sharp Home Appliances returns to IFA 2019 with its most inclusive, energy efficient and interactive showcase to date. Inviting everyone to participate and join the conversation on Stand 8.2, Hall 101, the “Talking Kitchens” exhibit is set to offer a combination of leading-edge smart innovation and eye-catching design. Inspired by the Sharp “Be You” campaign, it is a celebration of individuality, giving consumers more opportunity to express themselves and personalise their kitchens.

Sharp Smart Appliances Works with Google Assistant and Alexa Range

Intent on bringing hands-free voice control to more kitchens, Sharp is showcasing a smart series that overcomes all the usual challenges of compatibility and integration. Designed for ease of use, the range is hassle-free to incorporate into existing smart home set-ups, working with two of the most popular and widely used digital voice assistants – the Google Assistant and Alexa. Equally distinctive for the innovative features on offer, the range encompasses an efficient, A-rated 78-Litre Smart Oven with a breathtaking 150 autocooking recipe functions, an energy-saving 556-Litre 4-Door Smart Fridge/freezer with convertible freezer zones, and a 15-Place Setting Smart Dishwasher and 10Kg Smart Washing Machine, which can offer ultra-fast cycles as well as a whole host of green technologies.

Also on display will be a forthcoming version of the Sharp Love2Cook Smart Oven, a next-generation model that is integrated with the world’s first connected cooking platform, Innit. Empowering cooks of all abilities, this integration provides the missing link between world-class cooking know-how and cutting- edge oven technology. Designed to adapt and personalise recipes in real time, Innit substitutes ingredients based on the likes and dislikes as well as the dietary requirements of anyone who creates a food profile on the Innit application. Optimising effiiciency and ensuring professional style cooking results every time, Innit not only automatically sets the ideal temperature, cook mode and oven time, but also tweaks the cooking settings specifically to suit Love2Cook. Innit can also orchestrate multiple dishes in the same oven to ensure that every part of the meal is ready at the same time.

When their Innit account is linked to smart displays, such as the Google Nest Hub, consumers also have

the option of hands-free voice control. For extra support as they cook, they can ask the Google Assistant

to select Innit meals, read the recipe instructions aloud, show thousands of step-by-step videos, and set

the oven.

To share this Innit connected cooking experience with all its visitors at IFA 2019, Sharp is presenting a chef-led cooking show, which is scheduled to run several times a day from the 5th – 11th September.

IFA 2019 will also be an opportunity for Sharp to add interest and value to home appliances categories that have plateaued in growth. Tapping into the ever-increasing demand for a more efficient and exciting home dining experience, the brand is to introduce its ground-breaking GourmetMaestro 4-Door Fridge/freezer. To help combat the issue of food waste and its adverse environmental impact, this 560- litre model offers the possibility of preserving food for longer with technologies that are designed to support vacuum sealing and fermenting food. Introducing more culinary adventure into the home, it enables everyone to try their hand at making sous vide style dishes as well as fermented treats and beverages, such as yogurt, kimchi and bread as well as wine and beer.

1-Touch Pro Series

Breaking down traditional housework routines and making them a thing of the past, Sharp will also showcase its 1-Touch Pro Series. Promising to perfect wash results whilst lowering energy consumption, both the 1-Touch Pro 10Kg Washing Machine and 15-Place Setting Dishwasher only require users to – quite literally - lift a finger to do the laundry and the dishwashing. With a single touch of a button, both machines can automatically calculate and set every programme and washing requirement.

ColourCatch Retro Combi Fridge/freezer Range

Challenging the notion that design-inspired kitchens are impractical and cost prohibitive, Sharp is inviting visitors to come and see its new line-up of efficient ColourCatch Retro Combi Fridge/freezers in Rubin Red, Flamingo Pink, Apricot Orange, Baby Blue, Tiffany Green and Lemon Yellow. As part of the brand’s interactive showcase, everyone who visits will be able to vote for their favourite colour and, in the process, enter a competition to win a Sharp microwave.

A new spin on retro-inspired style, this trend-setting range offers a striking combination of retro cool curves and an ultra-contemporary matte, textured finish.

2020 Design

Also exclusively on show will be the new 2020 Sharp Collection. Promising even greater attention to detail, the 2020 Range is a feat of minimalist style, ensuring, in the very make up of its design, exceptional ease of use. Defined by sloping control panels that are within easy reach, it oozes understated elegance, offering features, such as handle-free designs and discreet LED displays.

Of the IFA 2019 showcase, European Sales and Marketing Director, Alberico Lissoni, comments, “Perfectly exemplifying our ‘Be Original’ brand position, this exhibit highlights why we are different, offering design, efficiency and innovation without compromise. For us, technology is a means to an end, a way for us to ensure that you can always express yourself and have your way, your say in the kitchen. With developments, such as our Innit-enabled Smart Love2Cook Oven we are pushing the boundaries of design, increasingly developing technologies and partnerships that enable our products to work in sync with individual tastes, palates and dietary requirements. In line with our long-term vision for building a greener, more sustainable future, our designs and collaborations also further our commitment to help reduce energy consumption in the home.
